Human Rights Awareness Program

THIRU TRUST has conducted a range of special initiative Human Rights Awareness Program to all over the area in Anaiyur and Koodal Pudur area in Madurai District. Over 25 families were benefited by this program. Mr.R. Thirugnanam – Managing Trustee of THIRU TRUST, the local activist group were given a special lecture on human rights matters, constitutional guarantees, judicial and courtyard procedures, civil and criminal laws, court procedures on admitting a case, filing a suit and various sections of I.P.C (Indian Penal Code) and supports provided by the District Legal Aid Authority Cell etc.,

In this program, we have published a special hand book and also a reference guide about the “Human Rights & Constitutional Guarantees” – our Managing Trustee Mr.R.Thirugnanam published / delivered the book and the local activist received it. This book is a reference guide, explaining the various constitutional measures provided by our law in protecting human rights.

More than 18 cases have been reported and successfully provided the legal guidance and suitable cases were referred to reputed law experts for further guidance and action. In this training we have mainly observed divorce cases, family disputes, alcoholic dependence, property disputes and pre-marital counseling. Proper therapeutic interventions and referrals to legal aid services were made.
